State Farm Insurance, Spring 2010

The prerogative of the case was to increase number of State Farm auto and renter insurance policies sold among 18- to 25 year-olds. Our approach concentrated on increasing awareness with a campaign that focused on the quality, ease, and trustworthiness that comes standard with every State Farm policy. The agent model is a great deal more personable than direct insurers like Progressive.

Janet contributed much research on State Farm, AllState, GEICO and Progressive to help identify their best selling points and the advantages and drawbacks of their past and current advertising campaigns. Janet was very involved with the creative strategy and consistently brought new ideas to every meeting and challenged ideas to give them strength.

When Ball State competed in Detroit back in April, Janet was there cheering everyone on and watching and critiquing other schools presentations and campaigns. Ball State earned second place in their track, which qualified them for a “wild card” drawing to compete on the national level in Orlando. Ball State was selected as the wild card and went on to compete on the national level in Orlando, where the team came home after being selected as the 9th best entry in the nation.

The Century Council, Spring 2009

The Century Council is a non-profit organization focused on eliminating drunk driving and underage drinking and also promoting responsible alcohol consumption. Funding comes from a group of distillers including Bacardi and Beam Global Spirits & Wines. Ball State placed 4th after competing against ten other student chapters in District 6.

The social movement campaign “MOD” was designed to create social connections among the target through their desire to support causes relevant to them. It provided a connecting point for moderate drinkers to help them realize that drinking isn't a crucial element to social acceptance while in school. The tagline “Find Your MOD Spot” will encourage the target to be more responsible with their drinking habits and create a desire to seek more information on the MOD movement.
